Josh Persaud is the CEO and founder of the Energy Economics group of companies, including its construction, development, and asset ownership businesses.

With more than a decade of experience in the solar industry, Josh began his career on the tools, installing residential solar systems across Western Canada. His drive, vision, and leadership quickly propelled him through the industry—from sales and installation to management and partnership—ultimately leading the successful acquisition of Empower Energy’s BC division. Under his leadership, the company has installed more than 800 solar systems across British Columbia.

Building on this foundation, Josh led the acquisition of a long-established roofing company in 2025, strengthening Energy Economics’ vertical integration and expanding its capabilities across the energy and construction sectors.

Josh has also built the company’s commercial and utility-scale solar development platform, overseeing more than 200 MW of projects currently in development. In 2026, Energy Economics expanded into the United States, establishing operations in Texas alongside its existing presence in BC.

Through its asset ownership business, Energy Economics is developing a growing portfolio of commercial and utility-scale PV systems, creating long-term value through the development, ownership, and operation of renewable energy assets.

Driven by a passion for clean energy and sustainable development, Josh brings a combination of strategic leadership, negotiation, partnerships, investor relations, team development, and a deep understanding of energy economics. His focus is on building Energy Economics into a vertically integrated renewable energy platform spanning construction, development, and long-term asset ownership.

Andrew Jenkins

Chief Commercial Officer & Partner · Austin

Andrew Jenkins is Chief Commercial Officer and a partner in the Energy Economics group of companies, leading its United States business.

Andrew brings extensive experience in entrepreneurship and executive management, having founded, scaled and exited companies across technology, education and media. A proven change agent, he builds organizations, drives efficiency and growth, and empowers diverse teams to perform.

As co-founder and chief executive of zenGOT, an on-demand services marketplace, he led the company from startup to strategic acquisition in 2020. He has directed a fifty-person global team, grown a venture from six-figure to eight-figure revenue in three years, and built alliances between early-stage companies and multi-billion dollar brands.

He began his career in the international film industry as an award-winning producer, financing and producing feature films for global distribution alongside Academy Award winners. He founded and led the Next Generation Indie Film Awards, an international nonprofit that has awarded more than $400,000 to emerging filmmakers.

Andrew holds a Commerce degree specializing in Entrepreneurship from the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business, with executive education at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Drawn throughout his career to ventures that pair commercial return with meaningful human impact, Andrew brings executive leadership, capital, partnerships and growth strategy to Energy Economics. His focus is on building the group’s commercial business in the United States, from rooftop leases that create long-term income for property owners to utility-scale projects that add new generation to the Texas grid.

Brings over 15 years of project-management experience across diverse industries to the operations of every Energy Economics project, from engineering through to commercial operation.

Sam Mraiheen

VP, Major Business Development & Partner

Began his solar career in 2012 after a severe storm caused a three-day power outage. That was the spark for a focus on resilient, off-grid, and alternative energy that he now brings to large-scale development.

We brought that platform to Austin because the demand, the program, and the rooftops all line up here. Same engineering, same financing discipline, same people, pointed at the next great American energy build-out.

Founded over a decade ago; first commercial project delivered in 2016.

Development corporation launched 2024; roofing company acquired 2025.
